Insights: what your experts noticed

An Insight is something one of your experts noticed that no check tests: a useful life outside your own policy, a register line with no cost, a supplier whose details changed the week before a payment. Each expert reads your documents, your records and your context, and when something is worth your look it says so, in its own words: what it noticed, why it matters, the next step, and how sure it is. An Insight is the expert's judgement, never a computed result, and every one says so in the line beneath it, naming what the expert reasoned from and how much it read.

Where it shows

Insights is the first entry under Modules in the left navigation, marked with an eye, whichever modules you have. It lists every open Insight from every expert, newest first, with a filter by module and by kind. Your Dashboard's Insights tile counts the open ones and shows how many raised this period you have responded to, and each module's Overview keeps an Insights box with its count and the latest items. An expert's Insight is also an Action until you respond to it.

Two kinds

Most Insights are an individual expert's judgement within its own discipline: the Fixed Assets expert on an asset, the Procure-to-Pay expert on a supplier. A fraud risk is the other kind: what Fraud Watch raised from its second look across everything you have, or what a module's expert noticed in its own area that belongs to a known fraud scheme. Fraud risks are marked apart on Insights, in their own count, and each says who raised it. A fraud risk never names a person and never accuses; it names a supplier, an account or a document and links what it saw.

The expert's estimate

Where an expert can put a figure on what it noticed, it gives an estimate and says how it arrived at it. The estimate is labelled as the expert's, and it is never counted anywhere a checked figure is: not in money found, not in a module's headline, not in any report. The money on your dashboard comes from checks alone.

Responding to an Insight

An expert's Insight takes one of three responses. Noted says you have seen it and nothing more is needed. Look into it opens Ask Ressura at the Insight, so you can ask the expert what it read and what to do. Not relevant asks for a reason, which is kept as Organisational context about the asset, supplier or document the Insight is about, so the expert knows next time. Any member can respond.

A fraud risk takes the decisions a finding does, with one difference: any admin can accept it in one step, but dismissing one takes two people, and one of them must be the Owner. Until the second person approves, it shows rejection pending approval and stays open. Letting one person make a fraud risk go away would be a risk in itself. Members and roles explains the Owner.

What an Insight is not

It is not a Finding: no check produced it, and no second reader confirmed it. The person it is shown to is the reader, and what they say back is what the expert learns from. An Insight is never shared into an engagement. An Insight the expert was less than half sure of is kept and never shown.

The Fraud Watch page describes the second look in full.
