Connections and what they bring in

A Connection is an outside system your company has linked so that it brings documents and rows into the Data Room on its own. Everything it delivers keeps its origin, the name of the Connection and the date, so it is never confused with something a person uploaded. Only an admin can connect, sync or disconnect; members see the list and what each Connection has brought in.

What you can connect today

Open Connections from the Data Room. Three are available for every company:

Xero brings in your invoices and the other rows of your accounts. Its page shows how many Xero organisations you have connected and how many rows have arrived.
DocuSign brings in your completed agreements, each one offered as a contract for you to add.
Google Drive brings in the PDFs in a folder you share with Ressura.

Each Connection has a page with Connect or Manage, its status, and the date it was connected.

How to connect each system

Each system has its own page with every step, including where to find the keys or the sharing address it needs and what each value looks like:

Xero: create an app in your Xero account, copy its client id and secret, and allow access.
DocuSign: create an app in your DocuSign account, copy its key and secret, and allow access.
Google Drive: share a folder with the sharing email Ressura gives you and paste its link.

Ressura only ever asks to read, and it never writes to your accounts.

The backfill

Before its first sync, each Connection shows its Backfill window. Ressura imports up to twelve months of history, newest first, so your findings begin on current activity. Shorten the window on the page if you only need recent months, then choose Confirm backfill window. The page shows the backfill as not started, in progress or complete.

Syncing and what it costs

After the backfill, each Connection syncs about once a day, and Google Drive and DocuSign also sync when they tell Ressura that something changed. On Google Drive you can choose Sync now at any time.

Documents a Connection delivers cost the same 10 credits each as documents you upload. Rows, such as Xero invoices, are metered at 10 rows per credit, pooled across your Xero Connections. Xero also lists the PDFs attached to its rows that are not yet in the Data Room, and you add those for 10 credits each.

When your credits run out, the sync pauses before the next debit, tells you how many rows are waiting, and resumes when you subscribe or top up. Nothing waiting is lost.

When a Connection needs attention

If a sync stops for a reason you can put right, the Connection shows Needs attention and says what to do: sign in to the account again, restore sharing on the folder, or retry once the provider is back. Put it right and sync again. Everything already in the Data Room stays where it is while a Connection is paused.

Disconnecting

Choose Disconnect on Xero or DocuSign, or Remove on a Google Drive folder. Sync stops, the documents and rows already delivered stay in the Data Room with their origin recorded, and the findings drawn from them keep their provenance. A disconnected Connection can be connected again later, and its documents are matched rather than added twice.
