Change how Ressura read a document
Checked against the app on October 5, 2026Ressura reads every document you add and tells you what it read it as, and when that reading was wrong, even after you confirmed it, you can change it. Changing how Ressura read a document is called a correction. You can make one from the document's own page, for several documents together from the Data Room list, or by telling Ask Ressura what the documents really are.
What you can change
A correction changes what Ressura decided about a document when it read it:
- Its type, such as an agreement Ressura read as a price list, or a price notice it read as an invoice.
- Which way an invoice is owed, as an Invoice from a supplier or an Invoice you sent. Procure-to-Pay checks the invoices from your suppliers and Order-to-Cash checks the invoices you sent, so this decides which module checks the invoice.
- Who it is from or to, the Supplier on an invoice from a supplier or on a price list, or the Customer on an invoice you sent.
- How each sheet of a spreadsheet is read, as one invoice or as rows (Read as).
A correction never changes the amounts, dates or lines Ressura read from a document. Anyone in your company who can add documents to the Data Room can make a correction, and nobody needs an admin to approve it.
Change one document from its page
Open the document in the Data Room and choose Change type beside its Document type in Details. The dialog that opens, Change how Ressura read it, asks What is this document? and offers the document types your modules use, with an invoice offered as the two directions it can have, less the one Ressura reads it as now.
When the type you choose has a supplier or a customer, the dialog also asks for that name, already filled in with the name Ressura read, and you can type a different one. The invoice or price list is then filed under the name you gave and checked against that supplier's or customer's other documents. When you turn an invoice the other way round and leave the name as it is, Ressura reads again who the invoice is from or to. The dialog explains what a correction does, and Confirm makes the change, while Cancel leaves the document exactly as it was.
For a spreadsheet, Change how Ressura read it under How Ressura read it on the same page also lets you decide whether each sheet of invoices is one invoice or rows, under Read as, followed by Save and check again. A sheet you change from rows to one invoice has its rows kept as history and read by nothing, and a sheet you change to rows is read again as rows, which are not charged a second time. How Ressura reads your files describes the rest of that card, including its columns and the order of its dates.
Change several from the Data Room list
Tick the box at the start of each document's row in the Data Room list, and a bar above the list shows how many documents you selected. Choose Change how Ressura read these in that bar to open the same dialog for all of them together. The documents you select can be of different types, and every checkbox, the bar and the dialog can be operated entirely from the keyboard.
The dialog asks What are these documents? and offers every type that fits at least one of the selected documents. When the type has a supplier or a customer, you can name one for all of them at once, or leave the name empty so that every document keeps the supplier or customer it already has.
When a document is skipped
A change may not apply to every document you selected, so once you choose a type the dialog names each document it will leave unchanged, with the reason, before you confirm, and the others still change. A document is skipped when it is a row of a spreadsheet, which you change through the spreadsheet it came from, or when it was removed from use. It is also skipped when Ressura could not read it or is still waiting for you to confirm its type, when you named a supplier or customer for a type that has neither, or when Ressura already reads it the way you chose.
When the change applies to none of the selected documents, Confirm stays unavailable. After you confirm, the list says how many documents changed and names each one that was left as it was, and you can open a skipped document to change it from its own page.
Ask Ressura to change them
Tell Ask Ressura what some documents really are, for example "invoices (3).csv and invoices (8).csv are invoices from a supplier" or "these three are invoices I sent", and it finds them in your Data Room. When your words could describe more than one document, or none at all, Ask Ressura asks you which documents you mean before it does anything else.
Ask Ressura then answers with a single card naming each document, what Ressura reads it as now and what it will read it as after the change. The card also names any document it will leave alone, marked Skipped, with the reason. Nothing changes until you choose Confirm, which changes every document on the card in the same way as the document's page does, while Not now leaves every document as it was.
Through Ask Ressura you can change a document's type and the direction of an invoice. To change who a document is from or to, or how a sheet of a spreadsheet is read, use the document's page in the Data Room.
What a correction does
Everything Ressura built from the earlier reading is retired: the invoice it recorded, the values it read, the rows of a corrected spreadsheet and the findings its checks raised. Retired results stay on record as history, but they are no longer counted in Money found, in any count or on the Checks tab, and Ask Ressura no longer reads them.
Ressura then reads the document again the way you said, and its module checks it again. Reading the document again after a correction is free, and the checks that run afterwards are charged as usual. An invoice whose direction you changed appears in the other module, which checks it, and an invoice that was also recorded from a row of an invoice register is recorded again from that row alone.
Your decisions stay where you made them: a finding you had already decided keeps your decision on the retired finding. When a check raises the same issue again from the corrected reading, that is a new finding with no decision yet, so you decide it again.
When the module's checks are running at the moment you make a correction, the correction is saved immediately and Ressura reads the document again once that run finishes. Any results that run reached from the earlier reading are retired as well.
To undo a correction, change the document back, which is recorded as another correction.
See a document's history of changes
A document's page lists every correction under Changes to how Ressura read it, in Details, with the newest first. Each line says what changed from and to, who made the change and on which date, and a change made through Ask Ressura says so, for example:
Type changed from Invoice from a supplier to Invoice you sent by Jane Smith through Ask Ressura, 5 October 2026
A change of supplier or customer, or of how a sheet is read, is described in the same way. While a correction waits for a running module to finish, its line adds that Ressura reads the document again when the checks running now finish.
